Banned Books Week is the last week of September. This week celebrates the freedom to read. During this week libraries usually hold events to read banned or challenged books. Some libraries also hold discussions over these books too and why they have been banned or challeged. Over 120 books have been challenged since 2007.

Examples of Censorship

Censorship is around us everywhere. "Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord, thy God, in vain" is an example of censorship. Military photos have also been censored.

The NCAC (National Coalition Against Censorship) is against censorship. On their website, they present fair and unfair censorship cases.

4 main types of censorship:  Profanity
                                           Sex
                                           Violence
                                           Religion/views
